To celebrate the upcoming Christmas, the team of St Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced a new event for the PlayStation community. And that’s what with PlayStation Plus Playtime, players on PlayStation consoles will have a wide variety of events with rewards, discounts on PlayStation gear, contests and tournaments for all players. This event will be available from today until next January 5th.
We detail the various PlayStation Plus Play Time activities below:
- New avatars for PS5 and PS4 (no active PlayStation Plus subscription required)
All players will be able to download five free avatars with images inspired by some of the most popular PlayStation Plus titles and sagas, including Ghost of Tsushima, Final Fantasy VII Remake and Disco Elysium from the games catalog or Rainbow Six Siege and Assassin’s Creed from Ubisoft+ Classics. To access them, the player will need to visit the PlayStation Plus website or check the PlayStation Play Time page on the PS5 or PS4 console for a coupon code that can be used between December 5, 2023 and December 5, 2024.

PlayStation fans can take part in PlayStation Plus Playtime for a chance to win a PS5 console and 12 months of PlayStation Plus Premium with access to hundreds of titles from the games catalog and the classics catalog. To enter, all we’ll need to do is visit the PlayStation Plus website and answer five questions about the PlayStation Plus games catalog from December 19 to January 5, 2024.

- Free Weekend of Online Multiplayer (PlayStation Plus subscription not required)
PlayStation players will be able to enjoy a new weekend of online multiplayer from December 9th at 0:01am to December 10th at 11:59pm (local time) and cooperate or compete with other players online. During this period, players will be able to play the multiplayer online game without a PlayStation Plus subscription.
- PlayStation Tournaments (PlayStation Plus subscription required)
From 12:01 AM on December 12th to 11:59 PM on December 17th (local time), there will be PlayStation tournaments for games such as EA Sports FC 24, NBA 2K24, Madden NFL 24 and MLB the Show 23. In these tournaments, we can win subscription to PlayStation Plus Premium. The registration process is similar to traditional PlayStation tournaments, with personalized tournament cards and an in-game button that displays a list of available tournaments to play in. By signing up for a PlayStation tournament, players will compete 1v1 in a pre-determined schedule.
- PlayStation Stars Campaign (PlayStation Plus subscription required to receive monthly PlayStation Plus games)
As part of PlayStation Plus Playtime, users will earn an additional 50 PlayStation Stars when they redeem and play any of the monthly PlayStation Plus games for December through January 5, 2024. December Games of the Month: LEGO 2K Drive, Powerwash Simulator and Sable.
- Sony Pictures Core benefits for PlayStation Plus users (PlayStation Plus Premium subscription required)
Sony Pictures Core offers gamers up to 2,000 movies to buy or rent directly from the console, and PlayStation Plus members have additional benefits. Every week starting December 1st, PlayStation Plus users will have access to deep discounts on 7 movies for 7 days. Check back every Friday for new PlayStation specials. PlayStation Plus Premium users will get access to a special catalog of 100 Sony Pictures Core movies for streaming on demand.
