Subaru Australia has launched a new special edition BRZ coupe, bringing a bright yellow exterior and some minor upgrades, but you’ll have to be quick if you want one.
Based on the top spec BRZ tS, only 95 examples of the new Subaru BRZ tS Kiiro will be available in Australia as part of a limited run of just 350 units.
The available-to-order BRZ tS Kiiro is priced at US$53,590, which is $800 more than the standard tS, which costs US$52,790.

Among the most notable additions to the flagship tS, the variant that comes standard with the Japanese brand’s in-house STI division, is the primary ‘Sunrise Yellow’ paint color that gave the model its name.

Other tweaks include 18-inch matte black alloy wheels, ultra-suede seat upholstery with yellow perforations, yellow interior stitching and matte black ‘Kiiro’ badging inside and out. Naturally, there’s also a plaque inside to identify each model’s build number.
Like the wider BRZ range, the tS Kiiro is powered by a 2.4-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder ‘boxer’ engine with consistent power and torque.
The same 174kW of power and 250Nm of torque is sent exclusively to the rear wheels, while the Kiiro is available with six-speed manual and automatic gearboxes.
It retained the STI-tuned suspension and Brembo brakes from the standard tS, and a special ‘Sport’ driving mode was added in 2025.

“Kiiro” (黄黄) means “yellow” in Japanese kanji and is said to symbolize energy and optimism, and Subaru says this special edition BRZ is designed to reflect the joy of driving.
Subaru seems to be embracing the yellow trend worldwide. A few special editions were released in Japan and the US with a bright livery, and although some are called “STI Sport” models, they cannot be considered true STI Halo cars.
In late 2025, the brand will introduce limited-production yellow versions of the BRZ tS and WRX tS to the U.S. in Sunrise Yellow trim and the same aesthetic tweaks as the Australian Kiiro tS, including black wheels and unique upholstery. Each is limited to 350 units.

Most recently, Subaru Japan announced some special edition vehicles at this year’s Tokyo Motor Show. The WRX STI Sport Prototype # is joined by the Levorg STI Sport R-Black Limited II STI Performance Pickup and the WRX S4 STI Sport R-Black Limited II STI Performance, both in Sunrise Yellow.
Name aside, the Japanese yellow car features black exterior accents, black alloy wheels and Recaro seats with exclusive yellow perforated upholstery, while the WRX can be had with a large STI-style rear spoiler. Various STI cosmetic accessories are also standard.
