They ask Nintendo if Link and Zelda have a relationship and that was the answer

The announcements, which are relevant at least to fans of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, focus on the relationship between Link and Zelda.

Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom for Nintendo Switch

Looks like they asked Nintendo about it. In Tears of the Kingdom, the game continues this uncertainty, especially when it comes to Link to Zelda.

In an interview with IGN, Eiji Aonuma Nintendo has neither confirmed nor denied the romance between Link and Zelda. Instead, she left that interpretation up to the players, suggesting that Nintendo isn’t imposing a fixed narrative on the Zelda series. Aonuma explained that the essence of the game is already integrated, and how players interpret the relationships between the characters depends on their imagination and experience while playing the game.

These were his words:

I’ll leave it up to everyone’s imagination (whether or not Link and Zelda are in a relationship). I don’t think Zelda is a game where the development team says, “This is Zelda, this is the story, this is the game.” Everything the development team wants to convey is already included in the game. And the rest depends on the player’s imagination and his thoughts about what he feels… what he experienced in the game.
