During the last Tokyo Game Show, we were able to try out two more Capcom games, the remake of Ace Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney and the iPad and iPhone adaptation of Resident Evil Village. We’ll tell you what we thought of both…
A few days ago, we snuck into Capcom’s private room at Tokyo Game Show 2023 to try out some of the latest features behind closed doors, such as Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy and Resident Evil Village for iPad in a session that we thoroughly enjoyed.
We’ve talked before about the impressions we got from our Dragon’s Dogma 2 test, but Capcom had other games waiting for us to enjoy in their private room at Tokyo Game Show 2023.
Below we talk about our impressions of each of the titles we tested in Tokyo Game Show 2023. We put them all together because they were 15-minute demos and, as you can see, there wasn’t time to go into them.
Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy
Apollo returns new remastering for PS4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and PC in a trilogy that fans will never forget. Includes Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies, and Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Spirit of Justice.
The confusion with the names is resolved in the Japanese version, where at one time it was preferred not to be as complex as in the West. So these games are just Ace Attorney 4, Ace Attorney 5, and Ace Attorney 6 in Japan, so it’s less confusing to include the Apollo name in a trilogy when two of the three installments are named Phoenix Wright.

It might be the final remaster (although with Ace Attorney you never know), so the graphics quality is top notch. The original system, flawless gameplay and There are several additional options, such as the ability to freely select each episodeas well as the part we want to play.
Capcom’s idea is that users who probably already know the game from cover to cover can relive the episodes or parts they like the most. In addition, it has a redesign the menu to make it more user-friendlyautomatic mode that simplifies everything to enjoy the story and all kinds of additional features.
The art gallery and menu where you can listen to over 150 songs from the soundtrack with dancing characters is pure love for the franchise. Equally important, Episodes and content that were previously DLC are included and some other extras to give the offer more depth.
The bad news is that it doesIt’s released in seven languages with voices and lyrics, but Spanish isn’t one of them. It’s especially painful when the Capcom guy points out the included languages one by one right in your face. Stop, stop, I don’t want to hear it!
Resident Evil Village on ipad
To see a game like this part of the zombie franchise move to the iPad with the quality of graphics we’ve come to love is something it makes you see the tablet differently. And even more so when you think that Resident Evil 4 Remake is also on the way…
Resident Evil Village on iPad and the iPhone 15 has sacrificed nothing, it has everything, and it maintains the capacity, immersion and intensity that this saga has become accustomed to. This is a great app for users who don’t have a console or PC but want to play triple A titles on their mobile device. And also do it without compromising on quality.
And when we say sacrifice-free, we mean that you don’t lose anything: the character moves very smoothly and the graphics maintain excellent clarity even at the shortest distances. Movement speed is also unaffected: There are no failures or jerks, although we did not play too much to go deeper.
Best of all, we played in Spanish and everything was just as it should be, with excellent Spanish dubbing and equally neat lyrics.
