XploraOne: It’s a phone designed for kids from HMD

Many laws in different countries of the world restrict the use mobile phones for children in schools. The concern is mainly related to the use of social media.

But the HMD brand is launching a device called the Xplora One, which is supposedly much safer for children.

The Norwegian-born phone includes a similar-looking compact touchscreen, a selfie camera and a home button on the front panel. There is a single camera at the back and an LED flash. We can also identify a physical SIM card slot on the left side and a power and volume rocker on the right side. There appears to be an extra button on the top in addition to the 3.5mm headphone jack.

The teasers confirm that the XploraOne can make and answer calls, send dials and voice messages. It also has advanced parental controls and is free of third-party apps, web browsers, and social networks.

It’s not just another phone among others. It’s a reminder that childhood is spent in the offline world. Designed to stay in your pocket, not take over your life. Without internet. No social media. Only the main thing: calls, security and play– says the brand

The same Norwegian brand claims about the XploraOne: “It is designed to be your child’s first phone.
It allows kids to call, text and share content safely, giving parents peace of mind. No social media. There are no rabbit holes on the Internet. But with just the right amount of freedom created using secure technology.”
