The technology company has already announced in May 2023 that it will add ads of up to 30 seconds to the platform’s TV broadcast, which users cannot miss and which are better suited for this big screen.

YouTube TV has now officially integrated these ads for all users using the free version of the app, so they will have to wait patiently before watching the video content or continuing to play it.
Google itself shared this in a statement on its blog, where it clarified that “VCR Non-Skip” ads are now publicly available to allow brands to “reach TV audiences with Google AI.”
Specifically, this 30-second continuous ad format is added to the ad options that have been running until now, which had 6- and 15-second versions. So now users will have to wait longer for these new ads to appear.
It’s worth noting that, as Google explained, to choose which ads it will show users on YouTube TV, it will use Google AI, which will dynamically optimize the experience, choosing between 6, 15 or 30 second unskippable ads, ensuring that each brand’s campaigns “reach the right audience” at the most ideal time.
It’s worth noting that this 30-second non-stop ad is designed specifically for the big screen, as there are no breaks in the content to ensure that the message is ‘completely delivered’.
With all that said, if they don’t want to see these long-term ads, users should opt for YouTube Premium or Premium Lite subscriptions, which are available from €13.99 and €7.99 per month. Likewise, the platform does not allow the use of ad blockers.
