While Nintendo is doing its best to protect its intellectual property through lawsuits, Sony doesn’t seem to care at all, as it has so far taken no steps to shut down the various Emulators ps3 that we can find in the market.
If we are talking about one of the best PS3 emulators, if not the best, then the RPCS3emulator, far from satisfied with the support it has offered so far, has just been updated to extend the support it already offered for Architecture x86.
RPCS3 is now compatible with ARM and Raspberry Pi 5 processors
With the latest update, apart from being compatible with it, it can also be installed on any computer powered by an ARM processor, including Raspberry Pi 5. The compatibility of this architecture with this emulator was a matter of time, but the most impressive thing is the power of the Raspberry Pi 5.
It was already possible to use this model of Raspberry Pi to emulate both the Wii and the GameCube, both from Nintendo, although not in an easy way. The fact that the RPCS3 developers have managed to make it compatible with the Raspberry Pi 5, they claim, “challenges the limits of PS3 emulation”. Of course, to do this they had to drop the resolution down to 272p, the same as the PSP.
Given how this emulation software has evolved, it’s only a matter of time before some users are prompted to create something like PSP using a Raspberry Pi 5, some controls and a screen where resolution is less important.

With the launch of support for ARM processors, the most complete PS3 emulator now works on all PCs on the market regardless of their architecture. This means that in addition to running on Intel and AMD processors, it can also run on computers with ARM processors which are already available on the market since the middle of the year.
It is expected that by the end of 2025 NVIDIA in MediaTek introduce a new processor with the same architecture to compete directly with it Qualcommsince neither Intel nor AMD has any plans to change the architecture of their processors for laptops at the moment.
How to download RPCS3 for ARM devices
Those responsible for this project announced compatibility with both Raspberry Pi 5 and PC processors with ARM architecture. However, as of this writing, neither version is available for download, so we’ll have to wait a few days at best to be able to do so.
