Pokemon and Naruto were one of the largest anime and manga franchises in the world. Both have been recognized as some of the best anime series in history. Although both have completely different storylines, they have been popular since the beginning of the anime craze and still continue after so many years. An unusual connection between the two series was recently noted that surprised fans and could be seen as a tribute Pokemon to Naruto.
One of Ash’s strongest Pokemon was trained as a ninja, a ninja who looks like a character from Naruto. Given Greninja’s obvious influence, the training is not only appropriate, but necessary for the role Ash’s Froakie will play as he matures.

Ash’s Froakie is light and strong, allowing him to jump quite high. Attacks are reflected by blisters on the chest and back. Froakie may appear distracted, although he is constantly aware of his surroundings. However, when Ash and Froakie lose to a ninja named Sanpei and his Toadstool (Froakie’s evolved form), he asks Sanpei, who looks exactly like Naruto character to teach Froka and Ash and prepare them for the future.
Sanpei accepts and begins teaching Froakie basic ninja moves such as sprinting across water and flying through treetops as in Naruto. While it takes a while, Froakie finally learns how to use these powers, which he will use throughout the story.
Froakie also eventually learns the Double Team move, which is known in Japanese as “Shadow Divide”, which sounds very similar Naruto Shadow Clone Jutsu. These steps were a great connection with Naruto from the series that surprised fans.

Other Naruto Links to Pokemon
The series featured many references to other anime series. Even in Pokemon: Sun and Moon, the series made a reference to Boruto, which caused quite a stir. Episode “Ninja Burst of Wisdom!” there are many references to popular TV series such as Pikachu and others wearing ninja costumes and Sanpei coming from a secret city to be the greatest ninja. Ninjas played an important role in the Pokemon in the world after the Kanto gym leader Koga in the first generation.
Similarities are inevitable in anime, as artists look for references in everything around them, both in the natural world and in entertainment. Some similarities are direct homages, while others are coincidental. With more than 900 Pokemon in the series there are many parallels between Art Pokemon and Naruto franchise.
