After so much controversy, speculation and leaks (many recent ones…), we finally have a trailer for the long-awaited sixth installment of Grand Theft Auto (GTA), which takes us back to the mythical city of Weiss City, located in the fictional state of Leonidas, where we learn the story of the criminal couple, Lucia and Jason.
In a press release, Rockstar Games states that this will be the biggest and most exciting evolution of the GTA franchise to date. “Grand Theft Auto VI continues our efforts to push the boundaries of what’s possible in immersive open-world games and stories,” said Dan Hauser, the company’s founder.
Despite all the excitement, both the trailer and the statement confirm what will remain a secret: GTA VI will only be available for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S after its release in 2025, leaving PC to the surprise and disappointment of many users who play on this platform. Even when we go to the official site of Grand Theft Auto VI, only the logos of the next generation consoles are visible.

After seeing the incredible graphical power shown in its trailer, it became clear that the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will not be able to support everything that this new chapter of the saga promises, and it would be better not to even talk about the Nintendo Switch. that despite some impressive ports like The Witcher 3 and Doom Eternal, it’s become impossible to run next-gen games over the years.

As incredible as it may seem, this has always been Rockstar’s way of working with its games: both the fourth and fifth installments of Grand Theft Auto were originally released only for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in September 2013, and came to PC a year and a half later . later something that outraged many fans.
And if we come to his last game, Red Dead Redemption 2, the situation was the same. The game was released in October 2018 for PS4 and Xbox One only, PC players had to wait until November of the following year to enjoy the adventures of Arthur Morgan. It’s obvious that they prefer to work on consoles, where most of their audience is, to make their games, and then work on the PC version, which is in the healthiest state.

There is still a chance that a PC port will be announced soon, but as we know Rockstar Games is a company that has their own way of doing things and doesn’t follow industry standards, rather they will be looking to change paradigm with this new GTA, which unfortunately for PC players will have to wait again for it to appear on their platform.
