Its main function is to control local artificial intelligence models, such as Gemini Nano in the Pixel or Galaxy AI in the Samsung, allowing you to perform tasks such as translation, text summarization, image editing and auto-replies directly on the phone without an Internet connection.

Although this capability is a technological advantage, It also has significant costs in terms of storage and performance.
The operation of local artificial intelligence requires advanced language models that occupy a significant part of internal memory. In many cases, AICore can use up to 7 GB of memory just by storing these files and constantly updating them.
On 128GB mobile phones, this is almost 6% of the total space, which is a significant percentage considering that many users rarely use the built-in AI features.
The weight of these models varies by device and use. In the Google Pixel 9 and Pixel 10, for example, the commitment to Gemini Nano as a local AI system increased memory consumption, while in the latest Samsung Galaxy AI integration also implies a significant reserve of memory.

To determine if your phone has this app, follow these steps:
- Go to Settings.
- Enter the Applications section.
- Select See all apps.
- Use the search engine or scroll to find “AICore”.
If it appears in the list, it means that your device manages some AI functions locally.
Many users barely use native AI features on their mobile phones. Programs such as Gemini or ChatGPT work through the cloud and do not depend on AICore, so disabling this service does not affect their normal operation. What can change dramatically is the amount of free space on the phone and battery life.
AICore not only takes up storage, but also consumes battery and RAM, even if local AI functions are not currently in use. There are reports that sometimes the application supports background processes that reduce the overall efficiency of the system, something that particularly affects those who do not take advantage of the smart options built into their mobile.

Disabling AICore is not as simple as uninstalling an app downloaded from the Play Store, but the process remains accessible to any user. Here are the recommended actions:
- Open Settings and go to Applications.
- Click “View All Programs” to display the full list.
- Search AICore.
- In the program information, click Disable or Deactivate.
- Tap the three-dot icon in the upper-right corner and select Uninstall updates.
This last step is very important as it allows you to delete the data and AI models uploaded by AICore. The result is usually immediate: 3 to 7 GB of memory is freed up, depending on the device and how long it has been used.
If you follow this procedure, the program will remain inactive until you decide to activate it again, which you can do at any time by repeating the process and selecting the appropriate option.
