Studio closures continue to hit the industry, and now it’s the turn of Puny Human, a studio in the United States with more than 16 years of history working on important games. The co-development company collapsed because some of its customers didn’t pay.
Initially, this led to the dismissal of 14 employees, as well as the voluntary departure of several developers who saw how difficult the situation was. Puny Human currently has only 2 employees and plans to close the company at the end of this year.

The worthless man’s days are numbered
The name Puny Human probably doesn’t sound familiar to you, but you should know what he helped create Callisto Protocol, Tale of the bard 4, Tribes of Midgard, Trover saves the universe, among other games. Before devoting itself to co-development, Puny Human tried its luck with its own franchises such as Dystopia in Blade symphony.
Due to lack of payments, the studio will be forced to close at the end of 2023 after 16 years of operation. Mike Sanders, its CEO, wants to sell some of the studio’s assets or make them open source for others to use.
“Taking Puny Human from a full-time team of 20 employees in 2023 to zero is heartbreaking and difficult to reveal to our community, promoters and friends.
“Unfortunately, the client rejected previously agreed payments, which deprived us of the cash flow to fully sell our unfinished property and caused consistent setbacks in our operating profit. I take full responsibility for the fact that I was not sufficiently prepared for such an outcome,” said Sanders.
