LG is ahead of CES 2026 and unveils its first Micro RGB TV

LG Electronics unveiled a major technological innovation at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2026): he LG Micro RGB evoa television that represents the most advanced evolution in LCD technology produced by the company. This CES Innovation Award-winning device combines the precision of LG’s OLED technology with RGB architecture to create a high-performance alternative to traditional OLED panels.

The Micro RGB evo uses individual, microscopically sized RGB LEDs that are controlled with precision equivalent to LG’s 13-year-old OLED panels. The α11 AI Gen 3 processor, powered by the Dual AI Engine, boosts performance with Dual Super Upscaling, which simultaneously processes two types of AI upscaling to enhance clarity and produce natural, balanced images.

Color coverage, certified by Intertek, is almost complete: the device achieves 100 percent coverage in BT.2020, DCI-P3 and Adobe RGB standards. This positions the Micro RGB evo as a premium option with uncompromising color accuracy aimed at users looking for maximum performance without the limitations inherent in traditional LCD displays.

LG emphasized that the Micro RGB evo is not intended to replace OLED. Instead, it offers an additional alternative that provides extremely high brightness and reliable color performance without the use of self-emissive pixels, avoiding the risk of screen burn-in that characterizes OLED technology in some applications.

Micro Dimming Ultra technology provides tight control of LED zones to improve contrast, allowing the TV to achieve levels of accuracy close to OLED. The 75-inch, 86-inch, and 100-inch models will debut at CES 2026 with the webOS user interface on top of world-class theater equipment.
