Sony introduced its quarterly results this year 2 Q2 (April to June 2025) and provided additional materials.
PlayStation 5 added 2.5 million distributed consoles, approximately 100,000 units more than in the same period of the previous year. The total number is 80.3 million units, approximately two million below the number of PS4 over the same period (82.2 million).
PS4 and PS5 software sales amounted to 65.9 million units, which is 12.3 million in the same period of 2024. The first part sales increased by 0.9 million to 6.9 million units by 0.9 million.
The percentage of digital sales against physics was 83%, which is 3% more than in the previous financial year.
The company does not provide current PlayStation Plus subscribers, providing monthly active users. The Mau of this period amounted to 123 million, which is 7 million more than in the second quarter of 2024.
During this period, the Sony Video Games department entered 963 533 million ye (about 5.6 billion euros) and benefited from 147 957 million (about 860 million euros).
After submitting Sony’s results, it slightly increased the forecast for the full financial year in the video game department.
