Pokemon Scarlet and Violet there have been a fair share of distribution events since launch, and while many have fallen short of player expectations, there have also been a few interesting ones featuring competitively spawned Pokemon or even Herba Mystica. With The Indigo Disk DLC coming out on December 14th, Pokemon Company should reveal if this is the final addition for Gen 9 as it seems, and if so, there should be even more unique events to come. to support the game until future ones are released. While there is an argument for more legendary and mythic raids on Terra, Gen 9 could have its own big distribution event, and it already has the perfect candidate for it.
Generation 9 marked a big departure from the series as players know it. Not only is there Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have broken many traditions, even great ones dating back to the first games in 1996, but they are also the first in more than 25 years Pokemon the anime changed its tone a lot. Farewell to Ash and Pikachu in the Pokemon anime was a sad moment for many longtime fans, and now the focus of the animated series is on new characters and creatures – and one of them has to be a part of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

Why should Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have a Captain Pikachu event
After the departure of Ash and Pikachu from Pokemon anime, the series continued with main characters Liko and Roy and their respective “newbies” Sprigatito and Fuekak. While there are a few other noteworthy characters, the anime included a bit of fan service with Freed being the trainer of the mighty Charizard, as well as a peculiar Pikachu, Captain Pikachu. This Pikachu wears a sea captain’s hat and is often referred to simply as “Cap”, and while it’s not the same as Ash’s Pikachu, it has enough screen time to become a recognizable character.
Considering this Pokemon sword and shield was presented with a large distribution event featuring 8 different Pikachus, each with Ash’s hat, it seems reasonable to think that Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will include their own Captain Pikachu distribution event. Such an event would make a lot of sense for the launch of The Indigo Disk DLC as well Pokemon the story of the anime in Gen 9 is heading into uncharted territory for gaming, and Terapagos plays a big part in that.

Tying the events of the anime into the game would be an interesting move for The Pokemon Company, and giving away Captain Pikachu Frida in the game would be a great way to do that – even if the character doesn’t stick around in the upcoming Generation 10 series. There is currently no way to obtain the original Ash Pikachu forms that were distributed in Gen 8, as they were released between September 2020 and November 30th of that year. These Pokemon included:

Gen 8 was a good start for Ash and Pikachu in the anime as they won the Eight Masters Tournament, making Ash the most powerful trainer in the universe. Although the Captain isn’t that iconic, having an event to promote him will help make him more memorable in the run-up to the end of the anime or future chapters where he’s still around. Either way, The Indigo Disk feels like the culmination of the story told in the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet‘s Paldea and beyond, and a big distribution event will be greatly appreciated by fans.
