Pokemon Scarlet & Violet fan finds “depressed” Pokemon in the wild

While most Pokemon are happy creatures even when hunted, one Pokemon Scarlet and Violet player came across a particular Pokemon that seemed to be “downtrodden.”

It’s not often that Pokemon is seen as a boring franchise. Sure, Psyduck has constant headaches and maybe depression if we’re being honest. But most of the more than 1,000 creatures are peppy little things, beaming with energy and optimism.

However, for Pixel Artist and Pokemon streamer TAHKOtheir copy of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet got a bit of Pokemon Blue, as an encounter with a wild creature – along with a weird bug – made one Pokemon look like they just gave up.

TAHKO shared the clip on Twitter with the caption, “I found a wild iron beam,” and sure enough, the Pokemon in the video look like they’ve had a particularly bad day at the office.

When TAHKO begins an encounter with a wild Pokemon, it does not start its normal animation. Instead, the Iron Link in question just sits there, staring at the floor, not moving an inch.

Between the half-closed eyelids and the thousand-yard stare, this unusually sullen Ironbinder certainly seems a lot more downtrodden than the usual version of the metal bird.

It’s not entirely clear if the crash was a bug or an issue with the game, as usually the Iron Bundle gets attention when faced with a bigger force, but a lot of people seem to like this one, with one comment under the clip: “Oh he’s in a mood.”

However, user @AquaPani probably put it best, commenting under the clip “brother said” and the popular image of a depressed penguin from the game Club Penguin. Fortunately, the iron bundle was quickly dispatched to Pikachu with TAHKO using Thunderbolt. May they find peace.
