Pokémon TCG Japan’s Raging Surf features a Tapu Koko ex Special Illustration Rare by artist Jerky, who became famous for this card type.
Pokemon TCG Japan released the next Scarlet and purple-era set. This new set is a Tera Garchomp themed expansion titled Crazy surf. It hit shelves on September 22nd and includes 62 cards, excluding secret rare cards. This expansion will continue the new feature we saw in the new Japanese set in July, Lord of the Black Flame, which saw the introduction of Tera Pokémon with a Tera type that is different from the standard type. One of the Tera Pokemon that we know will have a unique Tera text set in this set is Tera Garchomp ex. It is a water type, hence the name Crazy surf. It has already been confirmed that this set will partially consist Scarlet and Purple – Paradox Riftwhich will be our English language Pokemon TCG set for November 2023. Rumor has it that Scarlet and Purple – Paradox Rift will also be paired with cards from the upcoming Japanese ex-starter sets with Tera Mewtwo ex and Tera Skeledirge ex, but we can’t confirm yet. Today let’s take a look at another rare individual illustration from this set.
The final special rare artwork we’re spotlighting in this newly released Japanese set features Tapu Koko. This bright and colorful Tapu Koko ex Special Illustration Rare is seen by the artist jerky Use bright colors without black lines, simple shapes and detailed depiction of legendary Pokemon to achieve a brilliant effect. Jerky contributed to Pokemon TCG from the beginning of 2023, a special set Corona Zenit. With only a year under his belt, Jerky has contributed some notable rare artwork, including Lumineon V with Corona ZenitTropius from Scarlet and Purple – Paldea Evolvedsequence Pidgey / Pidgeotto / Pidgeot ex Crimson and Purple – Obsidian Flameand now this card featuring the fan-favorite Guardian of Alolan Island.
