Resident Evil Requiem left an interesting fact about how users play: the vast majority prefer the third-person camera in Leon’s chaptersbut the same does not happen with Grace.
As the game director explained, around 90% of players chose Leon in the third personalso following the recommendation of the name itself.
This behavior makes sense: Leon has historically been a character associated with this type of camera in previous installments, especially in more action-oriented games.
In contrast, Grace’s chapters show a sharper division. Approximately 60% of players stay in first personfor now 40% decided to switch to a third party.
This is in keeping with the character design: Grace is designed for an experience closer to survival horror, where the first-person camera heightens the tension and immersion, as opposed to the more direct and combative approach that Leon takes.
Overall, the data shows that the dual-perspective system works as Capcom expected: Players adapt the camera to suit the style of each main charactercombining action and terror in the same experience.
