According to the artist, Jigglypuff’s design was inspired by his appearance in the recently released Pokemon dream and, as it should be, the pink ball took a nap.
In addition to showing off the vase on Reddit, pokamii shared a YouTube video detailing how they created the fan art. The roughly eight-minute video broke down the steps involved in creating a magical vase. Based on the textbook, Art Pokemon the fan started by sculpting a Jigglypuff shape out of clay. First, they formed the Pokemon’s spherical body, then added a few of its features, including ears, feet, arms, and even swirls of fur on its head. After the clay dried, several coats of matching pink paint were applied to the sculpture, and details such as the eyelids and mouth were then painted.
It should be noted that this is not the only fan art created by pokamii. They showed off their artistic skills by making a variety of ceramics, such as several clay plates based on various Pokemon, including Jigglypuff. Also, the Slowpoke fountain used to be sculpted.
As this latest Jigglypuff creation from pokamii shows, it’s often fun to see fans take some of their favorite Pokemon and create real-world objects inspired by their designs. With this pokemon themed vase complete, it looks like pokamii has no intention of slowing down. Time will tell which Pokemon will be the subject of their next ceramic project.
