A fan of the Pokemon Trading Card Game has created a framed display of his favorite Pokemon starter cards, and other players are showing their appreciation for their skill.
Pokemon fans have been debating the title of “Best Pokemon for Beginners” since day one, with Gen 1 fans arguing the merits of Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle based on both the cuteness of their designs, their strength in battle, and the usefulness of their evolutions.
The battle for the most popular starters has been going on for years, and each new generation introduces a fresh batch to replenish the line. Eevee was also brought into the conversation during the Nintendo Switch era through the Let’s Go games, which were considered seminal entries in the series.

The Pokemon Trading Card Game also has starting wars, as their usefulness often changes with each card. Starters can also stay relevant across sets in a way that they may not stay relevant in the competitive Pokemon battle scene.

Reddit user PokemonTCG shared an awesome display they made of their favorite Pokemon starter line, with gorgeous cards for Charmander, Charmeleon, and Charizard framed in glass.

The reason these three cards were chosen is because they are among the many Pokemon cards that depict the sequence of events: Charmander is lying at the bottom of a canyon, Charmeleon is climbing walls, and Charizard is flying, now that he has wings.

“This frame design is so cool!” one user writes and another says: “Wow, where did you get the frame? It’s so cool.”
Fans showing off their favorite Pokemon TCG cards is nothing new, as some people like to collect cards for their artwork rather than use them in battles. A great card doesn’t get much use when it collects dust in a binder, so people put their favorite cards on display.
While some people may disagree that the Charmander line is the best, there’s no denying that the artwork on these cards is gorgeous and worthy of display in your home. Yes, non-Pokemon fans might not get it, but why would you even invite such commoners into your home?
