Finally, video game enthusiasts learned about this year’s best titles at the 2025 Game Awards, which celebrate the best performers in the industry. “Clair Obscur: Expedition 33” was named the best video game of the year. beating Nintendo’s Donkey Kong Bonanza and the successful Hollow Knight Silksong.
An independent game from the French studio Sandfall Interactive, set a new record with nine awards in key categories such as Best Game Direction, Best Storytelling and Best Art Direction. With this, he dethroned “The Last of Us II”, which has won seven awards since 2020.
The gala concert held at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles recognizes creative and technical excellence in the video game industry in 29 categorieswhich include actors and actresses, and game genres such as fighting, RPG, action, and mobile.
While “Clair Obscur: Expedition 33” dominated the night, other games stood out, such as “Mario Kart World,” which won the Best Sports/Racing Game category; “Arc Raiders” as the best multiplayer or “Hades II” as the best action game.
