Mortal Kombat 1 will get a mythical character from horror cinema, and not just one, according to its creator

Last week we reported that a dataminer found in the archives Mortal Kombat 1 links to several fighters that will arrive as additional content, including A ghostly facea common villain in all movies and TV series Scream. Ed Boonecreative director of the 2D fighting game for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch, warmed the hearing.

The veteran developer posted an image on X/Twitter showing several of the the most famous antagonists of horror films. He gave a positive rating to three of them, revealing that they had appeared in previous NetherRealm Studios games: Leather face (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre), Jason Voorhees (Friday the 13th) in Freddy Krueger (Nightmare on Elm Street).

There are five other characters he questions: Michael Myers (Halloween), Pin head (Oven), Chucky, Billy (Saw), and of course A ghostly face with Scream. So the post seems to imply that one or more of these gruesome villains will appear as additional content in the final installment of the gory fighting game.

Mortal Pack 1 fighters will arrive first

In any case, if they come, they will take time to appear, because Confirmed characters for Kombat Pack 1 have yet to be releasedwhich includes six combatants (Imni-Man, Quan Chi, The Peacemaker, Ermac, Patriot and Takeda TAkahashi) and 5 Kameo characters (Trimore, Mavada, Johnny Cage, Fero and Chameleon). The full package costs €39.99. We don’t know how much the DLC characters will cost individually, although we do have a hint in Shang Tsung, which was included in the pre-order but can now be purchased for 7.99.
