One UI 8.5 provides an impressive image editing feature

Samsung recently launched this program One UI 8.5 beta for the Galaxy S25 series and highlighted some of the new features coming with the update. While other Galaxy devices have yet to receive beta versions, a leaked One UI 8.5 build for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 has revealed a new Galaxy AI feature that could seriously improve the image editing experience on Galaxy phones.

According to SamMobile, this new feature brings instant image editing to the Stock Gallery app. Users can access this feature by clicking the Galaxy AI button in the app and using the text box in the Photo Assist section to describe the changes. The feature will reportedly allow users to add, change, or remove elements from an image, but more importantly, it will also allow users to move elements from one image to another.

Galaxy AI in One UI 8.5 will allow users to move things from one photo to another

A tutorial from the Samsung Tips app reveals that the new editing feature will allow users to select an image from the Gallery app and have Galaxy AI grab a detail from that image and add it to the photo they’re currently editing. Users will also be able to describe exactly how the element is added to achieve the desired results.

SamMobile notes that this feature is not working in the leaked version of One UI 8.5 and is not available in the beta version that was recently released for the Galaxy S25 series. So there’s currently no way to know how effective Samsung’s new generative editing capabilities are. We hope to learn more and test this feature in the upcoming One UI 8.5 beta or when a stable version is available with the series. Galaxy S26 early next year.
