The next Future Flash set from the Pokémon TCG in Japan has gone Lovecraftian with rare artwork depicting the Toedscruel pack as Eldritch horrors.
Pokemon TCG Japan has started teasing October 2023 Scarlet and purpleera sister sets. These two sets are “Raven Moon” themed. An ancient roar and on the Iron Valiant theme Flash of the future. Both sets will hit shelves on October 27th, just one month after Terry Garchamp Crazy surf which is also currently being teased. These expansions will introduce new Future and Ancient mechanics that reference Paradox Pokémon. We’ve already seen Paradox Pokemon like Iron Treads and Great Tusk before Scarlet and purple sets, but Art Pokemon TCG basically held those special species back for the next wave of expansions. It has already been confirmed that these sets will be combined with Crazy surf reconcile Scarlet and Purple – Paradox Riftwhich will be our English language Pokemon TCG set for November 2023. Rumor has it that Scarlet and Purple – Paradox Rift will also be paired with cards from the upcoming Japanese ex-starter sets with Tera Mewtwo ex and Tera Skeledirge ex, but we can’t confirm yet. Today, let’s take a look at a newly discovered rare artwork from the set.
Toedscool previously received a rare illustration in the Scarlet and purple base and now its evolution Toedscruel got it too. Artist KEIICHIRO ITO depicts a wonderful and exciting scene of a pack of Toedscruel marching through an eerie forest of bare bone trees. It’s pretty Lovecraftian, showing the Pokemon here to be weird and weird. Toedscruel also gets a standard card in this artist set Toshinao Goodwhich keeps up with the forest theme but keeps it simple and sweet, with Toedscruel peeking out from behind a tree.
