Ron Cartavio introduces Signature, his new premium rum that celebrates the art of aging in Peru

Ron Cartavio is officially launched Signed by Ron Cartavioits most premium rum and the Cartavio Rum Company’s most ambitious project in its nearly century-long history. Made in the beautiful Chickama Valley, this distillate was born as a collector’s item that combines tradition, technique and a modern vision of luxury.

The official launch of the product took place on Tuesday, November 25, bringing together guests, press and influencers for an evening to showcase the best of Peruvian rum. The evening included guided tastings that showcased the Cartavio Signature attributes up close.

A new level of luxury for Peruvian rum

Its origin is based on the enhanced pyramidal system, a method that maximizes the absorption of aging. The rum begins its journey in casks that used to hold American whiskey, continues in gently toasted casks that provide hints of wood, vanilla, nuts and chocolate, and finishes in 100 liter mini-toasted oak casks, where time seals its final character.

The result is a blend of extra-aged rums aged for more than 21 years, with an impeccable structure and elegance that only time and technique can offer.

For the consumer, this means an exceptional sensory profile: a deep, lustrous golden color; complex nose with notes of fruit, chocolate, vanilla and toasted wood; and a soft, velvety and perfectly balanced taste with a long finish that confirms its premium category.

Art, Provenance and Craftsmanship: Signature Pillars

In addition to the technical process, Signature pays tribute to the heritage of Casa Cartavio, founded in 1929, and the magical origins of the Chicama Valley. Inspired by this story, the product label includes an exclusive artwork by artist Luciana Espinar, which captures the essence of rum through a style of realism with soft textures and nods to Peruvian traditions.

The creation is also based on three key pillars: sugar cane of the highest quality, grown under water control, which guarantees sweetness and stability; oak barrels of special European origin, which were previously used in the production of bourbon and whiskey; and the work of master blenders, who are responsible for maintaining the brand’s quality and sensory seal.

This entire process results in a perfectly balanced Peruvian rum with a silky texture and a deep aromatic profile. Its price of S/500 positions it in the most exclusive segment of the market, aimed at those who value high-end products and seek a truly exceptional experience.
