Today, Ubisoft is publishing the new installment in the popular Assassin’s Creed franchise, Mirage, but the PC launch was mired in controversy with the first patch.
In the 1.0.2 update, which includes about forty fixes and improvements, PC users discovered that the controversial Denuvo anti-piracy system, which is often linked to performance issues, was also introduced.
This set the community on fire because until now the game had been announced without this system, and it was added at the last minute, without notice and in a rather bland manner. It’s a case unfortunately similar to the one we saw a few weeks ago with Lies of P, which Denuvo also added with a patch released on the same day of launch.
Assassin’s Creed is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, and will be coming to Apple’s iPhone 15 Pro early next year. In our analysis published yesterday, we told you that “Ubisoft brings back the classic approach to one of its most beloved sagas with everything that entails, and despite repeating past mistakes, it’s a balanced and rewarding experience.”
Ubisoft just added Denuvo #AssassinsCreedMirage via patch day-1 a few minutes ago. AFTER all the major reviews hit the web. Sincerely: Bullshit. pic.twitter.com/Bv1wn5oBr6
